License Plate Recognition

POINTR P3000ANPR and License Plate Recognition System

POINTR for Urban Security

POINTR P3000 and POINTR Moonlight are Highway License Plate Recognition System solutions that automatically read the license plates of vehicles traveling on roads, determine vehicle make, type, and color information, and transfer the resulting data to central systems.

Thanks to a high-resolution camera, built-in IR illumination, and embedded image processing unit, the systems operate during both day and night; detected vehicle and license plate information can be transmitted to a remote center through wired or wireless communications infrastructure.

Highway License Plate Recognition System

POINTR P3000 and POINTR Moonlight are license plate recognition systems that detect vehicles on the road through image-based analysis and automatically read license plates on the field unit. License plate, make, type, color, passage date/time, monitoring location, and vehicle image are combined under the same record.

The system operates in integration with the Turkish National Police License Plate Recognition System Central Software and POLNET infrastructure. This enables vehicle passage records obtained from field points to be displayed, queried, archived, and used in security operations centrally.

When suitable camera and system architecture are used, additional functions such as in-vehicle imaging can also be supported; these images can be used by authorized law enforcement units in vehicle and person-description assessment activities.

How It Works

From passage to the center, step by step

PLATE POINT — CAMERA + IRIR + CAMERA
01 The vehicle approaches the ANPR point and an image is captured
The high-resolution camera captures the vehicle image; built-in IR illumination supports license plate imaging at night and under low-light conditions.

04 It is queried through POLNET / EGM
Records are made available to authorized users through the License Plate Recognition System Central Software and POLNET; vehicle passages are queried and archived by date and location.

System Components

01
High-Resolution Camera
Captures detailed vehicle and license plate images and, when positioned according to road and lane geometry, captures vehicles traveling in succession or side by side.
02
Embedded License Plate Recognition Unit
Processes camera images in real time in the field, detects the vehicle, locates the license plate area, reads the characters, and performs make/type/color analysis.
03
Built-In IR Illumination
Supports readable license plate imaging at night and under low-light conditions, including areas with insufficient external lighting.
04
Local Data Memory
Stores vehicle and license plate records on the field unit when the network is unavailable and transfers them to the center once the connection is restored.
05
Central Server and Software
Enables license plate and vehicle information from field points to be collected, archived, and queried centrally.

What does POINTR P3000 do?

Highway monitoring capabilities extending from license plate recognition to person-description assessment.

Automatic License Plate Recognition The license plate area within the vehicle image is located, characters are read, and the information is recorded together with passage date, time, and location.
Make, Type, and Color Detection Vehicle make, type/class, and color are identified in addition to license plate information, supporting plate verification processes.
In-Vehicle Imaging With suitable architecture, driver/passenger images can be evaluated, supporting person-description review and vehicle-person matching activities.
Nighttime and Low-Light Operation IR LED night vision enables license plate and vehicle images to be captured 24/7.
Local Recording and FTP Transfer During network outages, records are retained in local memory and sent to the center via FTP when the connection is restored.
POLNET / EGM Integration Field records are integrated with the EGM License Plate Recognition Central Software and POLNET, consolidating data from different points in a common system.
Centralized Querying Searches can be performed by license plate, date, time, camera point, region, make, type, and color; results display the vehicle and license plate image together.
Common Enforcement Infrastructure The same license plate recognition infrastructure can also be used for red-light, average speed, parking, mobile, emergency lane, and overheight violation detection.
